About the role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our development team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products, with a particular focus on Go and RESTful API development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in testing and development, with bonus points for experience with Kong Gateway.
Join us in building a global control plane with secure, scalable, and reliable APIs.
What you’ll do:
- You will be an integral part of our Control Plane team, working closely with developers to contribute to pull requests, understand new features, and proactively address inefficiencies.
- You should be capable of understanding new feature code when documentation is incomplete, engaging with team members in public channels to ask clarifying questions, and being self-motivated to identify and resolve inefficiencies as they arise.
- You will design and implement solutions to technical problems of moderate complexity.
- Support those services in production by participating in an on-call rotation.
- Write automated tests to ensure the behavior of code and avoid regressions.
- And any additional tasks required by your manager.
What you’ll bring:
- 5+ years working in a team to develop, deliver, and maintain complex software solutions.
- Expertise in Golang, with bonus points for experience with Lua.
- Experience developing and supporting a large-scale SaaS platform.
- Understanding of and development with git and GitHub workflows.
- Have an understanding of test-driven development environments and automated testing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
