Director of Engineering

ProPursuit is currently seeking an experienced Director of Engineering for a leading Fintech client in Germany.

This role will be based in their Berlin or Hamburg office, with an onsite requirement of 1-2 days per week.

The candidate will join the Product & Tech department as a Director of Technology, focusing on execution delivery, system architecture, and platform stability. The department comprises 60 multinational colleagues across 10 cross-functional agile teams.

Your role:

• Support teams in executing and delivering high-quality features and improvements aligned with concepts, technical guidelines, and architecture.
• Define and oversee decisions on system architecture and technical roadmap.
• Conduct concept sparring and reviews regarding approach and effort estimations.
• Collaborate closely with teams, POs, Tech leads, and stakeholders to understand the platform, processes, and business needs.
• Lead by example and communicate the \’WHY\‘ in a collaborative manner.

Your profile:

• You are hands-on, empathetic, and enthusiastic about driving initiatives forward in a highly collaborative environment.
• You have at least 3 years of experience leading tech teams and establishing excellent tech execution and delivery.
• You have participated in building/running tech organizations within larger startup-like companies or organizations with flat hierarchies.
• You can lead discussions on cloud infrastructures with containerized microservices in AWS and Kubernetes (EKS).
• You are experienced with data and KPI-driven environments relying on event-based architectures and data platforms.
• You have experience with React and NextJS.
• You are proficient in Node.js, TypeScript, and Golang for backend development.
• English fluency is required; German language skills are a plus.
