Scala Developer

ProPursuit is currently looking for an experienced Scala Developer to work with a Software Solutions customer of ours located in Dortmund, Germany.

This position is a hybrid working module requiring 2 days onsite per week and also requires fluency in German language.

Salary for this role would range from €70,000 – €85,000 depending on your experience.

Your role:

• You will make a significant contribution to the further development of our sports betting software and will be involved in the entire development process.
• You take responsibility for your features – from implementation to post-release support.
• We develop our own ideas, solutions, and requirements for the software and implement them together as a team. You will work on your task packages independently and coordinate the prioritization with your team leader.
• Analysing and fixing bugs is also part of your responsibilities
• Your tickets will initially contain a requirements and implementation outline. As your experience grows, you can specialize in specific areas of the software, independently define requirements, and translate them into high-quality code.
• Once a year, you will participate in a workshop with our support team to drive improvements and innovations.

Your profile:

• You have practical experience in programming with aJVM-based language(e.g. Java, Kotlin or Scala).
• You have at least 2 years experience working with Scala.
• Responsibility and willingness to help:You take responsibility for the implementation of your tickets – from planning to completion. You contribute creative solutions and work independently on challenges. If you get stuck on your own, that’s no problem: Our team culture is based on willingness to help. It’s important to us that you actively request support and communicate with your team to achieve the best results together.
• Confident use of modern development environments such as IntelliJ IDEA or VS Code as well as agile project management tools.
• Familiarity with the Cassandra database system and basic knowledge of SQL/CQL.
• Knowledge of version control systems, preferably Git.
• Experience working with TypeScript would be a plus
• Fluency in German and English is a must
