Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform expression (E. coli, mammalian cells) and purification of nanobodies and recombinant proteins via affinity chromatography and FPLC-based methods.
2. Design and perform experiments for the biophysical characterisation of nanobodies and proteins.
3. Determine the affinity of nanobodies and antibodies using biolayer interferometry (BLI).
4. Characterize the colloidal and thermal stability of nanobodies, antibodies and other proteins using dynamic light scattering (DLS) and nano-differential scanning fluorimetry (nanoDSF).
5. Perform experiments for the biochemical characterisation of nanobodies such as immunoprecipitation, SDS-PAGE and Western blot.
6. Lead the development of laboratory reagents based on nanobodies.
7. Document data, perform data analysis and summarize experimental results.
8. Present data at internal and external meetings.
9. Collaborate closely with research groups at companies, universities and CROs.

Preferred Education/Experience:

1. PhD in the field of biochemistry, biophysics, biomedical sciences, biological sciences or similar.
2. Preferably 2-4 years of relevant work experience, ideally in an industrial setting.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. Strong scientific background in protein biophysics and biochemistry.
2. Preferably experience with the determination of antibody affinities using biolayer interferometry (BLI) or surface plasmon resonance (SPR).
3. Experience in protein analytical techniques (e.g., SDS-PAGE, FPLC, HPLC, Western Blot).
4. Eagerness to acquire new skills.
5. Ability to work in a team and independently.
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills (German and English).
7. Proficiency in common office applications and ideally in statistical tools such as GraphPad Prism.
