You support both engineering and workshop areas, develop fixtures, test setups, and scalable assembly processes. This role is ideal for a practical person who loves precise work, acts independently, and enjoys collaborating with top engineers.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Build and test mechanical and electromechanical prototypes based on early design drafts
  • Perform rapid prototyping and mechanical assembly tests
  • Optimize and oversee workshop processes, tools, storage, and calibration
  • Operate key workshop equipment such as milling machines, lathes, and testing rigs
  • Work closely with engineers to improve prototypes and prepare for manufacturing
  • Conduct incoming goods inspections, maintain PPE and tools, and ensure safety standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient laboratory and workshop environment

WHO YOU ARE

  • A practically oriented problem solver with high manual dexterity – strong both independently and in a team in workshop settings
  • Proactive, communicative, and team-oriented – comfortable working with engineers and technicians in dynamic development environments
  • Detail-oriented and safety-conscious – with high standards for quality, precision, and occupational safety
  • Adaptable and flexible – thrive in fast-changing technical environments with a high degree of responsibility
  • Excellent German and English skills
  • Qualified technical background (vocational training or technical/university degree), with experience in machining, wiring, assembly, and test rig technology

INTERVIEW PROCESS

  1. Recruiter interview (30-60 min)
  2. Technical screening (30 min)
  3. Practical on-site assessment
  4. CEO call (30 min)

At Proxima Fusion, our mission is bold: making limitless clean energy a reality. To achieve this, we need a high-performing, diverse team that brings different perspectives, challenges assumptions, and builds together with purpose. We value diversity of thought and experience, which leads to better ideas, stronger execution, and a more resilient team. We do not discriminate based on identity, appearance, religion, or ethnicity. We care about what you can bring to the table.
