pThe Paul Scherrer Institute PSI is the largest research institute for natural and engineering sciences within Switzerland. We perform cutting-edge research in the fields of future technologies, energy and climate, health innovation and fundamentals of nature. By performing fundamental and applied research, we work on sustainable solutions for major challenges facing society, science and economy. PSI is committed to the training of future generations. Therefore, about one quarter of our staff are post-docs, post-graduates or apprentices. Altogether, PSI employs 2300 people. /ppPSI is a pioneer in the field of proton therapy. It conducts technological and clinical research to optimize spot-scanning proton beam therapy and to expand the range of indications for proton radiotherapy. In addition to its research activities, PSI provides a clinical program for patients with indications approved for proton beam therapy within the Swiss health care system. At the Center for Proton Therapy CPT, deep-seated tumors are treated using two gantries, while ocular tumors are treated on a dedicated beam line. The medical physics research program focuses on advanced imaging, treatment planning, and proton therapy delivery. /ph3Lead Clinical Medical Physicist /h3 ul li100% /li /ulh3Your tasks as a Group Leader /h3ulliTechnical, organizational and personnel leadership of the Clinical Medical Physics Group and of the Therapy Planning team (therapy planning is integrated into the medical physics groups) /liliResponsibility for the group budget, clinical duty service, working time monitoring and absence planning /liliCoordination of the technical and administrative exchange of information across all organizational units /liliCoaching and individual development of team members /liliClinical operational responsibility for medical physics activities at the facilities Gantry 2, Gantry 3 and Optis /liliLeadership of clinical medical physics and therapy planning support /liliLeadership and further development of the quality assurance program for all facilities /liliInterest in the continuous modernization of the clinical program (digitalization, automation, efficiency, use of AI tools, …) /liliInitiation of and contribution to strategic initiatives within the Medical Physicists Platform /liliInitiation, leadership and participation in research and development projects in part in an inter-departmental collaboration /liliPresentation of research and development results through scientific publications and contributions to national and international conferences /li /ulh3Your profile /h3ulliUniversity degree in physics, medical physics or a related field /liliSwiss certification in medical physics or an equivalent qualification recognized in Switzerland /liliSubstantial professional experience in radiotherapy /liliDemonstrable leadership, communication and organizational skills /liliProven ability to set direction, think strategically, establish priorities, delegate responsibilities and monitor team activities /liliInspiring and empowering leadership style /liliStrong aptitude for working in interdisciplinary and multicultural teams and building on individual strengths, all this in a collaborative spirit /liliAbility to work effectively in a complex and fast-paced clinical and scientific environment /liliExcellent command of English; working knowledge of German is an advantage /liliWillingness to work irregular hours in accordance with patient treatment schedules /li /ulh3We offer /h3pOur institution is based on an interdisciplinary, innovative and dynamic collaboration.
