ppThe Paul Scherrer Institute PSI is the largest research institute for natural and engineering sciences within Switzerland. It conducts technological and clinical research to optimize spot-scanning proton beam therapy and to expand the range of indications for proton radiotherapy. In addition to its research activities, PSI provides a clinical program for patients with indications approved for proton beam therapy within the Swiss health care system. At the Center for Proton Therapy CPT, deep-seated tumors are treated using two gantries, while ocular tumors are treated on a dedicated beam line. The medical physics research program focuses on advanced imaging, treatment planning, and proton therapy delivery. /ppFor the Center of Proton Radiation Therapy we are looking for a /pulliTechnical, organizational and personnel leadership of the Clinical Medical Physics Group and of the Therapy Planning team (therapy planning is integrated into the medical physics groups) /liliResponsibility for the group budget, clinical duty service, working time monitoring and absence planning /liliCoordination of the technical and administrative exchange of information across all organizational units /liliCoaching and individual development of team members /liliClinical operational responsibility for medical physics activities at the facilities Gantry 2, Gantry 3 and Optis /liliLeadership of clinical medical physics and therapy planning support /liliLeadershipand further development of the quality assurance program for all facilities /liliInterest in the continuous modernization of the clinical program (digitalization, automation, efficiency, use of AI tools, …) /liliInitiation of and contributiontostrategic initiatives within the Medical Physicists Platform /liliInitiation, leadership and participation in research and development projects in part in an inter-departmental collaboration /liliPresentation of research and development results through scientific publications and contributions to national and international conferences /li /ulh3Your profile /h3ulliUniversity degree in physics, medical physics or a related field /liliSwiss certification in medical physics or an equivalent qualification recognized in Switzerland /liliSubstantial professional experience in radiotherapy /liliDemonstrable leadership, communication and organizational skills /liliProven ability to set direction, think strategically, establish priorities, delegate responsibilities and monitor team activities /liliInspiring and empowering leadership style /liliStrong aptitude for working in interdisciplinary and multicultural teams and building on individual strengths, all this in a collaborative spirit /liliAbility to work effectively in a complex and fast-paced clinical and scientific environment /liliExcellent command of English; working knowledge of German is an advantage /liliWillingness to work irregular hours in accordance with patient treatment schedules /li /ulh3We offer /h3pOur institution is based on an interdisciplinary, innovative and dynamic collaboration.
