Senior Solutions Consultant – ALM / PLM in Ludwigsburg

Overview

In this role you will act as a trusted technical advisor driving pre-sales strategy and validation for ALM/PLM solutions, with CAD as a complementary part of the engineering portfolio. You will work closely with Sales, Product Management, Partners, and Customer Success to address complex development and regulatory challenges through digital transformation and Digital Thread initiatives. You will lead discovery sessions, demonstrations, evaluations, and PoCs to translate technical capabilities into business value. You will collaborate across engineering disciplines and stakeholders to shape solutions and ensure customer success.

Verantwortungsbereiche

• Technical lead for ALM- and PLM-focused opportunities
• Develop technical sales strategies with Account Managers
• Conduct customer discovery workshops on challenges, processes, and transformation goals
• Identify opportunities to improve cross-domain collaboration
• Deliver tailored demonstrations of ALM/PLM solutions
• Lead technical evaluations, benchmarks, and PoCs
• Support responses to RFPs/RFIs and solution architecture requests
• Act as trusted advisor through buying cycle and executive alignment
• Provide guidance on ALM/PLM, requirements management, test/quality management, and lifecycle processes
• Articulate how ALM/PLM enable Digital Thread, Digital Engineering, and Model-Based Systems
• Demonstrate CAD/mechanical data integration into ALM/PLM workflows
• Develop solution architectures linking ALM/PLM with CAD, ERP, MES, and other systems
• Translate capabilities into measurable business outcomes (speed, quality, compliance, reuse)
• Collaborate with Product Management and R&D to capture feedback and market needs
• Support partner enablement and joint customer engagements
• Represent PTC’s technical expertise at meetings, events, and conferences
• Mentor junior consultants and contribute to knowledge-sharing and best practices

Zentrale Anforderungen

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
• Five+ years of experience with ALM/PLM or related technologies in pre-sales, consulting, engineering, or implementation
• Strong understanding of software development, systems engineering, and lifecycle processes
• Experience with ALM platforms (Codebeamer, IBM ELM, Polarion, Jama Connect, Azure DevOps, Jira)
• Experience with PLM platforms (Windchill, Teamcenter, ENOVIA, Aras Innovator)
• Knowledge of requirements management, test/quality management, configuration and change management, BOM/variant management, traceability and compliance
• Understanding of agile, V-model, systems engineering, and hybrid product development methodologies
• Experience leading demonstrations, workshops, evaluations, and customer presentations
• Ability to translate complex technical requirements into business value
• Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to engage with software teams, IT, business leaders, and executives
• Working knowledge of CAD and mechanical product development environments
• Familiarity with CAD platforms (PTC Creo, SolidWorks, CATIA, Siemens NX, Autodesk Inventor)
• Willingness to travel ~20–30%
