Overview
Main purpose: Responsible for execution of Gasoline Blending operations and trader support. The role coordinates all aspects of post-deal trading activity to ensure contract execution runs efficiently, provides commercial and market information to the trader as necessary, and reviews and comments on contracts and tenders to ensure consistency with the trade ticket and recap. Responsibilities
Be the key point of contact between the commercial desk and external stakeholders for all gasoline blended cargoes. Liaise with terminals and vessels to ensure commercial blending plans are followed in line with the traders’ expectations. Ensure with inspection companies that quality is as per blend plans and in line with contractual provisions. Investigate quantity losses and explore remedial action. Troubleshoot when plans change and provide solutions. Actively manage the terminals line up to mitigate demurrage. Review stowage plans and monitor vessel progress during voyages. Appoint third-party providers in line with group policy; oversee clean acceptance of vessels on subjects and chartering progress. Liaise and coordinate with Finance, providing accurate and timely data needed for the issuance of L/Cs and P/Us. Issue documentary instructions to suppliers and handle all aspects of customs exportation/importation where applicable. Maintain good contract and shipping files electronically; keep Pluto updated regularly and minimise exceptions. Complete voyage and storage reconciliations to identify and investigate loss/gain differences for each operation. Monitor and advise the deals desk of all costs related to each transaction, maintaining P&L awareness. Ensure operations are optimised to best commercial advantage, meeting all contractual obligations (e.g. minimising demurrage exposure). Maximise recoveries; document, present and secure payment of all claims to third parties. Maintain strong working relationships with trade support divisions—claims, deals desk, trade finance and chartering—and with counterparts and third-party service providers. Train and develop less experienced members of the operations team to increase knowledge and commercial awareness. Follow internal procedures and company policies; adhere to Trafigura's Code of Conduct, HSEC Policy and Business Principles. Identify operational issues and escalates to the Regional Manager as appropriate. Required Qualifications
At least 5 years’ experience in cargo operations in a global oil trading company. Experience working on gasoline cargo operations with a preference for experience with blending operations. Ability to interpret the operational requirements of contracts and comment on operational aspects; understanding of the basic legal framework supporting oil contracts. Ability to interpret charter party terms against the interacting oil contract; good understanding of common ship operations and terminology. Good understanding of relevant petroleum product specifications, analytical methods, laboratory precision and inspection procedures. Good understanding of different types of financial instruments, their uses, and the importance of LOIs and shipping documents within the trading process. Preferred Qualifications
Experience across multiple product desks (gasoline, distillates and fuel oil). Familiarity with Pluto or similar trade operations management systems. Exposure to storage logistics and reconciliation processes. Attributes for Success
