YOUR MISSION
The Merchandise Planner is responsible for driving the commercial performance of assigned product categories by developing and executing merchandise plans that maximize sales, profitability, and inventory productivity across PUMA Retail Europe. Working closely with Merchandising, Allocation, Buying, Finance, and Retail Operations, the Merchandise Planner translates business objectives into actionable plans, ensuring the right product assortment and inventory investment throughout the product lifecycle.
Your Mission
Develop and manage seasonal merchandise financial plans aligned with business objectives and commercial strategies
Build sales, margin, inventory, and buy plans at category, channel, and market level
Monitor business performance and identify risks and opportunities through regular analysis of key commercial KPIs
Provide forecasting and reforecasting recommendations based on sales trends, consumer demand, and market developments
Partner with Merchandising to optimize assortments, product depth, and lifecycle management
Collaborate closely with Allocation to ensure effective inventory flow, replenishment strategies, and stock optimization across stores
Analyze product performance and recommend actions to maximize full-price sell-through while minimizing markdown risk
Support Open-to-Buy management and inventory investment decisions throughout the season
Lead weekly and monthly business reviews, providing clear insights and recommendations to stakeholders
Drive pre-season and in-season planning activities, including assortment reviews, demand planning, and financial forecasting
Contribute to pricing, promotional, and markdown strategies in partnership with Commercial and Merchandising teams
Identify opportunities to improve planning tools, reporting, and business processes
Mentor and support junior planners or allocators where applicable.
YOUR TALENT
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Retail Management, Supply Chain, or a related field
3–5 years of experience in Merchandise Planning, Retail Planning, Demand Planning, or a similar analytical commercial role
Experience within retail, fashion, sporting goods, or consumer goods is preferred
Proven experience translating data into commercial actions and business recommendations
Strong commercial acumen with a solid understanding of retail and merchandising principles
Advanced analytical and financial planning skills
Strong understanding of retail KPIs including sales, gross margin, inventory productivity, sell-through, stock turn, and Open-to-Buy
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with planning, allocation, and BI tools is an advantage
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple planning cycles in a dynamic environment
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
Highly organized, proactive, and results-oriented
Fluent in English; additional European languages are an advantage.
