Maybe a position in our Steam Turbine Engineering team is for You! /ph3Roles and Responsibilities /h3ulliOwn Bearing pedestal component selection and specification in execution of OTR activities for new units /liliPerform Turning Gear component selection and specification in execution of OTR activities for new units /liliContribute to technology advancements from a Shaftline System, subsystem, component and material / life viewpoint /liliCollaborate with global cross-functional team of internal Steam Turbine Engineers and external stakeholders (Drafting/Global Supply Chain) enabling fostering mutual technical growth and delivering for our customers. /liliPerform and review appropriate engineering analysis to ensure robust designs that meet all required CTQs /liliSupport RTS and NPI activities as required /liliDesign for EHS/Safety and demonstrate safety skillsets in support of manufacturing and field activities, i.e. lifting and transportation /liliDemonstrated excellence applying fundamentals of Mechanical Design, including material properties, statics, strength of materials, lifing methods related to fatigue (LCF HCF) and creep /li /ulh3Qualifications /h3ulliBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited university or college /liliSome engineering experience in Steam Turbine design and/or bearing pedestals/turning gear components /liliProficiency in English. /li /ulh3DESIRED /h3ulliEmbrace and demonstrate GE Vernova Way principles: Innovation, Customers, Lean, One Team, and Accountability /liliPrioritize everyday standard work within framework of SQDCC: Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Culture /liliExcellent communication skills and intercultural awareness /liliDemonstrated passion for Quality, LEAN, and Six Sigma implementing continuous improvement to deliver for our customers and reducing variation though adoption of standard work /liliDemonstrated clear thinker, with ability to manage conflict and derive solutions to complicated problems /liliExperience in Steam Turbine component design such as Pedestal/Turning Gear /liliSome familiarity with the manufacturing processes such as casting, fabrication, machining, and factory assembly/ testing practices, specifically as applied to power generation equipment /liliSecond language preferred, such as German, French, Spanish or Polish /liliFinite Element Analysis capability /li /ulh3Additional Information /h3ulliRelocation Assistance Provided: Yes /li /ulpAddressing the climate crisis is an urgent global priority and we take our responsibility seriously.
