The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising scaffolding activities across the project, including the erection, modification, inspection, tagging, release and dismantling of scaffolding associated with piping systems, cryogenic tanks, structural steelwork and process areas.
The role will involve direct coordination of scaffolding crews and subcontractors, ensuring all scaffolding activities are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with German regulations and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day scaffolding activities across the LNG construction site.
- Coordinate scaffolding erection, modification and dismantling activities.
- Supervise scaffolders, foremen and subcontract scaffolding teams.
- Plan and coordinate scaffolding requirements with construction, piping, mechanical and structural teams.
- Inspect, approve and release scaffolding for use.
- Manage the site's scaffold tagging and release system.
- Maintain scaffold registers, inspection records and relevant documentation.
- Carry out scheduled and ad-hoc scaffold inspections.
- Ensure scaffolding around:
- Piping and mechanical installations
- Cryogenic tanks
- Structural steelwork
- Process and utility areas
- is correctly erected and suitable for the intended work.
- Identify defective or unsafe scaffolding and ensure corrective work is completed before release.
- Monitor scaffold erection standards and workmanship.
- Ensure scaffolding is erected, modified and dismantled in accordance with applicable German and European regulations.
- Coordinate scaffold priorities with construction management and other site disciplines.
- Monitor manpower, productivity and daily scaffold activities.
- Ensure work-at-height requirements and scaffold access standards are followed.
- Ensure scaffolding complies with project specifications, manufacturer requirements and statutory regulations.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years' scaffolding experience within major construction, industrial, energy, oil & gas or petrochemical projects.
- Strong experience supervising scaffolding erection and dismantling teams.
- Previous experience on LNG, oil & gas, petrochemical, process plant or heavy industrial construction projects.
- Experience supervising scaffolding around piping, tanks, steel structures and process installations.
- Strong knowledge of scaffold inspection, tagging and release procedures.
- Experience coordinating scaffolding subcontractors and work crews.
- Strong knowledge of work-at-height and scaffold safety requirements.
- Good knowledge of German scaffolding standards and regulations.

Preferred
- CISRS Advanced Scaffold Inspector or equivalent scaffolding qualification.
- Previous experience on a major LNG terminal or LNG facility construction project.
- Experience on large-scale international EPC construction projects.
- Previous project experience in Germany.
- Strong scaffolding supervision and site coordination skills.
- Strong knowledge of scaffold erection, modification and dismantling.
- Able to manage multiple scaffolding crews and work fronts.
- Confident coordinating with construction management, subcontractors and other disciplines.
- Strong understanding of scaffold inspection and release procedures.
- Good organisational and documentation skills.
- Able to work effectively within a large multidisciplinary construction team.
