FUNCTION
Project Delivery
THE ROLE
Once a customer contract is signed, you take end-to-end responsibility for project delivery, working closely with the customer and cross-functional teams across Engineering, Finance and Production.
You combine customer focus with commercial project management and technical coordination. You need to be comfortable in an industrial engineering environment to moderate technical discussions, understand dependencies and risks, coordinate the right specialists and drive decisions.
You will act as the central interface between the customer and PYREG, coordinating our engineering, procurement, production, logistics, site and service resources around successful project delivery.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
End-to-end project delivery
Take responsibility for the project following contract signature and lead it through engineering, manufacturing, delivery, construction, commissioning, start-up, acceptance and final commercial close-out.
Customer and stakeholder management
Act as the primary project counterpart for the customer. Establish a professional and trusted working relationship, manage expectations and ensure issues are addressed early and transparently.
Internal project leadership
Coordinate the internal resources required to deliver the project successfully across engineering, procurement, production, logistics, service and commercial functions. Establish priorities, resolve interfaces and ensure that the organisation delivers against its commitments.
Coordinate with customers, contractors and internal teams during installation and site execution. Drive the project through commissioning, performance testing, acceptance and start-up, ensuring that technical and commercial requirements remain aligned.
Commercial project management
Understand the contract in detail and translate it into a clear execution framework covering scope, responsibilities, milestones, payment terms, guarantees, contractual deadlines, acceptance criteria and liabilities.
Cost, cash and project performance
Maintain control over project budget, cost development, forecasts and cash milestones. Ensure invoices are issued on time and actively manage customer payments and project cash flow.
Change and claim management
Identify deviations from contractual scope, assess their commercial impact and ensure changes are documented and commercially addressed. Negotiate variation orders and justified claims while protecting PYREG against unsupported customer or supplier claims.
Risk and issue management
Identify project risks early – whether related to engineering, interfaces, schedule, suppliers, construction, acceptance or commercial performance – and drive pragmatic solutions before they become critical.
YOUR PROFILE
We are particularly interested in candidates who understand the realities of plant engineering, EPC environments or complex capital projects.
• Several years (min. 3-5) of experience in project management, project execution, commercial project management or contract management within plant engineering, EPC, industrial equipment, infrastructure or a comparable capital-project environment.
• Experience working across several stages of the capital-project lifecycle, ideally including engineering, manufacturing, procurement, site execution, commissioning and project close-out.
• A strong commercial understanding of project contracts, payment milestones, budgets, guarantees, change orders and claim management.
• Sufficient technical understanding to engage credibly with engineers, customers and contractors and to moderate technical discussions without needing to be the technical specialist yourself.
• The ability to manage multiple internal and external stakeholders and drive decisions across organisational boundaries.
• Strong customer-management skills and the judgement to balance customer needs with PYREG's contractual and commercial interests.
• A structured and independent working style, combined with the ability to remain effective when projects become complex or situations change quickly.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills and the confidence to address difficult project issues directly.
• A degree in engineering, industrial engineering, business administration or a comparable discipline – or equivalent professional experience gained in industrial project environments.
• Willingness to travel internationally when required by the project.
Experience with pyrolysis, biochar or carbon removal is welcome, but not required. Relevant experience delivering industrial projects matters more.
WHY JOIN PYREG
Real project ownership You will not manage one isolated workstream. You will take responsibility for bringing complex customer projects from contract signature through successful start-up and close-out.
Industrial climate technology You will work on physical infrastructure with measurable impact – combining industrial engineering with circular-economy and carbon-removal applications.
International exposure Our customers, engineering partners and projects span multiple markets, giving the role significant international exposure.
Direct access and short decision paths You will work closely with management and with the people responsible for engineering, production, service and commercial execution.
Flexible working model We are open to predominantly remote working. Presence in Dörth and at customer or project sites is expected when it adds value – particularly for project kick-offs, critical engineering reviews, site activities, commissioning and important customer meetings. Please note that applicants must currently reside in Germany and hold valid work authorization.
Employment conditions Permanent full-time employment with 30 days of annual leave.

About us
PYREG is a German climate-tech company developing and delivering industrial pyrolysis systems that convert organic residues such as biomass and sewage sludge into valuable products, renewable energy and biochar – enabling permanent carbon removal.
We operate at the intersection of industrial plant engineering, circular economy and carbon removal, delivering capital projects for customers in international markets.
PYREG is also a build-and-scale case. We are evolving from a technology-led company into a scalable international industrial business. This means continuously improving how we engineer, execute and deliver projects. We are therefore looking for people who not only operate existing processes, but who are comfortable challenging them and building better ones.
