Job Description Q Analysts is seeking a Lab Test Automation Engineer to join our Client's Core Technologies team. Our Client's team applies a range of software, computer vision and robotics techniques to build systems and tools that enable accurate quality evaluation and regression testing of tracking systems and algorithms.
You will be responsible for operating and maintaining robotic measurement and motion capture systems, capturing high quality datasets, and collaborating with engineers and research scientists to evaluate prototype VR systems, process test data, and document results.
Organizing the lab rooms, preparing the equipment, and setting up/calibrating the OptiTrack system for ground truth data collection.
Reading, using, and writing Python scripts; experience with C++ code is useful for handling many C++ packages in the pipeline.
Executing step‑by‑step initialization of test fixtures and motion capture systems, and organizing and uploading Excel and other datasets to file servers.
Occasionally organizing, packing, transporting, unpacking, setting up, and operating portable measurement systems.
Analyzing and sharing test results with the requesting team; analysis depends on the project and may involve existing tools or custom statistical analysis.
Collecting data from VR devices and mobile phones, focusing on cameras and sensors.
Qualifications
Comfortable with productivity software (Word, Excel, Email).
Familiar with executing simple scripts and data transfer on Linux devices.
Comfortable with DMM, hand tools, and simple debugging of battery‑powered devices.
Optional: Familiar with operating motion capture systems or industrial robots.
Computer vision experience (camera calibration experience is a big plus).
