Senior Risk Engineer – QBE Europe SA/NV – Germany (Hamburg, München, Düsseldorf)
Responsibilities
- Conduct site surveys for industrial facilities and complex activities, prepare technical risk management reports and recommendations in German and English.
- Perform desk‑top reviews of third‑party reports, coordinate workflow with colleagues and external parties to support our clients.
- Execute quality control on site surveys and underwriting reports, monitor RMS quality and ensure compliance with technical guidelines and reporting specifications.
- Provide account engineering for key customers, evaluate existing risk‑management and loss‑prevention measures, and support the development and implementation of best‑practice risk‑management strategies.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing insights into current and emerging risk topics, and promoting best‑practice risk‑mitigation strategies through publications, presentations and training.
- Strategic planning and portfolio management: develop risk‑management strategies for key customer accounts, support the delivery of RMS, technology solutions and continuous improvement initiatives, and manage travel arrangements to ensure timely and cost‑effective service delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a comparable field, or a relevant qualification.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in risk management and risk technology, delivering insurance risk‑management services.
- Experience in property insurance is required; experience in liability insurance is desirable.
- Excellent German and English language skills, both written and spoken.
- Strong knowledge of loss prevention and best‑practice risk mitigation.
- Business awareness, pragmatism, perseverance, focus, ambition, self‑reflection and a flexible working style.
