Overview
You will own day-to-day general ledger activities within an international accounting team, ensuring accurate postings, reconciliations, and timely closing under German GAAP, HGB, and IFRS. You’ll collaborate across locations to support monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, provide audit-friendly documentation, and drive process improvements. The role offers exposure to cross-border accounting and a hands-on environment shaping financial statements for a leading market data provider.
Verantwortungsbereiche
- Manage day-to-day general ledger activities and timely posting of business transactions
- Prepare and review balance-sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
- Post closing entries, accruals, prepayments, provisions, and period-end adjustments
- Perform intercompany accounting and reconciliations and support group closing activities
- Assist with fixed-asset accounting, register maintenance, and reconciliations
- Support external and internal audits with documentation and explanations of accounting treatments
- Prepare closing documentation, reports, and audit work papers
- Respond to internal stakeholder requests and resolve operational accounting issues
- Contribute to continuous improvement of accounting processes and system changes while maintaining Internal Control System compliance
Zentrale Anforderungen
- 3+ years of relevant professional accounting experience
- Practical knowledge of German GAAP, HGB, and monthly/quarterly/annual closing activities
- Experience with balance-sheet reconciliations, accruals, provisions, and closing entries
- Understanding of intercompany accounting and analysis of balance-sheet and P&L movements
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables) to prepare and analyze accounting reports
- Good German (B2+) and strong English (C1+) skills, both written and spoken
- Ability to independently identify accounting issues and collaborate on solutions
- Attention to detail, accountability, and ability to meet demanding closing timelines
