eleQtron develops and operates full-stack quantum computers based on trapped-ion technology. Quantum computing is a new computing paradigm rapidly approaching commercial viability. Our unique approach combines laser-cooled trapped ions with microwave control and tailored magnetic fields. Our next-generation computing machines under development will be able to find solutions to problems that are out of reach today, thus enabling new innovative products and services for a brighter future.
We are looking for a Microfabrication Engineer (f/m/d) .
Responsibilities:
As a Microfabrication Engineer, you will be part of a team with a mission to develop, set up and operate our trapped-ion quantum computers and relevant test devices. You will collaborate closely with our international team of physicists and engineers from different disciplines. Depending on your level of experience, you will work on one or more of the followingtasks:
- Work with cross-functional teams on the design and fabrication of novel microchips for our next generation of trapped-ion quantum computers
- Support the chip design with your fabrication experience
- Refine our state-of-the-art surface ion traps in a completely new cleanroom environment
- Support the development of fabrication processes and coordinate projects with our foundry partners
Required skills:
- Master’s degree or PhD in physics, electrical engineering, material science or a related field
- Hands-on experience in microfabrication of surface ion traps or comparable structures
- Good communication and writing skills in English
- Enthusiasm for creative problem solving

- Experience in one or more of the following areas: chip design, magnetic materials, microwaves, electronics, opto-electronics, optics, atomic physics, vacuum systems, and cryogenic systems
- Demonstration of strong discipline, organized work, and proper documentation
- Understanding of and/or experience with semiconductor industry standards
