We are looking for an RF Test Engineer (m/f/d) for our Siegen location to test, characterize, and validate RF and microwave systems that enable the operation of our next‑generation trapped‑ion quantum computing platforms.

As an RF Test Engineer in the Electronic Engineering Team, you will play a key role in testing, validating, and integrating the RF systems which support our next‑generation quantum computing platforms. In this role, you will be part of an international team of physicists and engineers to develop, characterize, debug, and optimise high‑frequency hardware systems in advanced laboratory environments.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and develop validation & characterisation protocols for RF systems.
  • Take ownership of RF testing and validation activities, supporting the prototyping, integration, debugging, and validation of RF components and subsystems.
  • Contribute technical expertise and validation insights toward the development of next‑generation quantum computing platforms.
  • Contribute to improving lab infrastructure, RF testing methodologies, and automation workflows.
  • Support the operation team during validation & characterisation of our quantum computing platform with hands‑on expertise of RF systems.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Hands‑on experience with RF measurement equipment (VNA, Spectrum Analyzer, Oscilloscope, Signal generator).
  • Strong understanding of RF testing, validation, characterisation, and debugging methodologies for electronic systems.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Structured, analytical working style with strong ownership and execution focus.
