Windows on Snapdragon is a new area, and we are looking for candidates that have any relevant platform Windows experience that could transfer across to the ARM platform. We are looking for an experienced engineer with 10-20 years of relevant industry experience. To forge strong and trusted relationships with key Industrial partners, to support customer development of exciting new Qualcomm SoC based products with next generation AI, Machine learning, computer vision, and cellular communication technologies.SW Apps Role:Understand every aspect of customers\' product software requirements and designs.Enable customer to consume Windows on IoT software to bring up designs based on Qualcomm IoT chipset family.Communicate with internal product & development teams on any HW/SW design related issues/features from customer designs.Work with customers in resolving any feature development and product commercialization issues.Help customers to bring up various peripheral devices on custom hardware based on Qualcomm IoT SoC running Windows.Create application notes, technical memos, and provide training to Website communication skills both Native and English, with an ability to understand and explain technical information in a concise manner with both customers and developers.Experience in Windows kernel mode driver development, BSP bring up, boot optimizations, and power management.Good understanding of Windows OS internals and Windows Driver knowledge (KMDF).Experience in System BIOS, UEFI, ACPI will be preferred.Experienced in C/C++, Python is a must.Familiarity with ARM architecture will be a plus.Familiarity on device provision on Windows will be a plus.Any experience on Windows on ARM will be highly valued.Exposure on driver development for USB, PCIe, Ethernet (Linux or Windows) will be highly valued.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 11+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.ORMaster’s degree in engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 10+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.Multiple Locations possible.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.ORMaster\'s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.ORPhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.Preferred Qualifications:Master\'s Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.6+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.1+ year of work experience in a role requiring interaction with leadership.Experience in a customer-facing role.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:Leverages advanced Software Application knowledge to provide technical expertise of software systems through technical presentations in support of business development, customer training, product demonstrations, commercialization, customization, and maintenance of Qualcomm products.Collaborates with cross-functional teams and customer personnel to identify customer problems, debug complex issues in customer design software systems, and recommend innovative solutions.Drives system architecture and feature-specific customizations tailored for customer requirements from proof of concept to final product commercial launches.Assesses potential application of company products, prepares detailed product specifications, disseminates technical information on specific software areas, and/or troubleshoots complex issues regarding software tools and products.Writes detailed and complex product technical documentation, application notes, and FAQs.Level of Responsibility:Works independently with minimal supervision.Provides supervision/guidance to other team members.Decision-making may affect work beyond immediate work group.Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey complex information.
