Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Electrical Rotating Equipment Engineer located in Shah Alam. The engineer will be responsible for performing tasks related to refineries, rotating equipment, vibration analysis, mechanical engineering, and condition monitoring on a day-to-day basis.
Key Responsibilities & Accountability
- Performing inspections and disassembly of Generators / Motors / Rotating machines
- Understanding and interpreting Electrical / Mechanical drawings; IC&E / Mechatronic or other qualified Electrical Engineer; understanding of Major OEMs Operating and Control Systems (Advantage but not essential)
- Conducting electrical testing to assess machine condition; Engineers with Systems Control experience (Advantage but not essential)
- Accurately identifying damage and general wear / fault finding on Generators, AC/DC electric motors and other Rotating machinery; Route Cause Analysis experience, ability to report methodically and accurately to Customers
- Creating comprehensive job reports and inspection check sheets
Qualifications, Experience & Personal Attributes
- Requirements for this position include holding a qualification in Mechanical Engineering (Degree would be an advantage but not essential)
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in an Electro-Mechanical environment is essential
- Knowledge of medium and large electrical rotating machines (High Voltage) Generators, AC & DC motors
- HV Test bed and on-site Electro-Mechanical diagnosis, troubleshooting experience is advantageous
- The ability to travel for short to medium durations for site work in both Malaysia and Overseas is necessary
