ABOUT THE COMPANY
QUBIG GmbH is a technology company specializing in scientific lasers, focusing on free beam light modulators for fast and high-precision laser beam conditioning. The company combines expertise in laser technology, crystal optics, RF/HV technology, and HF-/HV-technology.
We are seeking a full-time PhD candidate for our Munich team, starting October 1, 2025.
OUR GOALS
- Train 15 well-equipped quantum researchers with cross-sectoral experience in fundamental and industrial quantum research.
- Develop cutting-edge quantum technology for robust and transportable optical atomic clocks (TRL 6) and advanced superradiant clocks (TRL 4).
- Enhance collaborations with industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in the publicly funded QuRIOUS project (https://www.quriousclocks.eu/).
- Design, simulate, and install mechanical and opto-electronic laser setups for proof-of-concept experiments.
- Develop innovative solutions in electro/acousto-optics with matching HV-/HF-driver electronics for scientific and industrial applications, especially in quantum technology.
QUALIFICATIONS / PREREQUISITES
- Bachelor's degree in physics.
- Experience with miniaturization of optical assemblies and micropositioning of optical elements is preferred.
- Goal-oriented, independent, and structured work approach.
- Researcher must work exclusively for this project.
- Candidate must not have resided or worked in the country of the employer for more than 12 months in the last 36 months prior to recruitment.
