(Senior) Legal Counsel – Commercial Law (all genders)

THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven (Senior) Legal Counsel (all genders) with an interest and knowledge of commercial law in the financial and/or digital economy . You should be enthusiastic about digitalization in the financial industry, strive for legal excellence , have a strong understanding of business processes , and possess experience as a lawyer or in-house counsel in commercial law . Your responsibilities will include handling legal and data privacy matters, identifying and mitigating legal risks, and providing strategic legal advice to support departments.

• Remote status: Hybrid

This role follows a hybrid work model with up to three days in the office per week . We have locations in Munich and Berlin, with an annual company gathering.

What you will be doing

• Advising management and departments on legal matters including commercial law, data privacy, digital technologies, licensing, and financial regulation.
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating SaaS, distribution, and cooperation agreements, including complex international contracts.
• Developing and implementing standard contract templates and lifecycle management processes.
• Collaborating with sales, marketing, product development, and support teams to provide legal support on projects.
• Analyzing and improving data protection management systems.
• Assessing new legal requirements in the financial and digital sectors and their impact on the company.
• Supporting risk assessments and legal risk mitigation efforts with the Risk & Compliance team.

What you bring to the team

• Education: Fully qualified lawyer or degree in law/business law (e.g., LL.B., LL.M).
• Experience: At least two years in relevant legal roles.
• Solution-oriented: Ability to explain legal concepts clearly and develop pragmatic legal solutions.
• Self-motivated: Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Languages: Excellent communication skills in German and English.
