We are searching for a Senior Network Administrator at our HANNOVER (DE01) facility.

Main mission of the role

• Network Operations and Administration: Independent administration and monitoring of the company-wide network infrastructure (IT/OT), including switches, WLAN, routing, and VLANs. Development and implementation of improvement measures to enhance network stability and performance. Creation and maintenance of technical documentation.
• Firewall and VPN Systems: Management and configuration of (global) central firewall and VPN systems (Fortinet) in coordination with supervisors and the IT team. Implementation and optimization of technical security measures.
• Participation in IT Projects: Partial responsibility for infrastructure projects – from planning and coordination to the implementation of individual technical work packages.
• IT Security and Compliance: Support in ensuring compliance with internal and external security requirements (ISO 27001, NIS2). Involvement in vulnerability assessments and the implementation of appropriate mitigation measures.
• Process Improvement and IT Environment Development: Active contribution to the ongoing development of technical processes and standards in the IT department. Proposing ideas to optimize infrastructure, security, and operations.
• IT Administration (Servers, Services, Systems): Support in managing physical and virtualized Windows servers. Participation in patch management as well as user and group administration. Troubleshooting of technical issues within the IT/OT system landscape.
• Cloud and Standard Services (Microsoft 365 / Azure): Support in the administration and further development of Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Exchange, Teams, etc.) and Azure services. Execution of administrative tasks such as license management and technical configurations.
• User Support and Training: Handling of IT support requests. Creation of technical guides and conducting IT-related training sessions and user onboarding.

Skills, knowledge and abilities

• Completed vocational training in IT (IT specialist for system integration) or a comparable qualification.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in the administration of network infrastructures, ideally in an international environment.
• Solid expertise in managing Fortinet firewalls and VPN systems as well as in routing, VLANs, WLAN, and troubleshooting network issues.
• Proven experience in operating, optimizing, and documenting network infrastructures (IT and OT), preferably using HPE/Aruba components.
• Familiarity with common IT security standards and regulatory frameworks (ISO 27001, NIS2), along with practical experience implementing related measures.
• Track record in technical project work: planning, coordinating, and executing assigned work packages.
• Willingness to support end users and share knowledge through training and onboarding sessions.
• Independent and solution-oriented mindset, paired with a high degree of responsibility and reliability.
• Excellent German and good English skills, both written and spoken.

Ideally, you also bring:

• Additional experience with HPE/Aruba switching and WLAN technologies.
• Knowledge of Windows Server administration and virtualized environments (VMware).
• Experience managing and enhancing Microsoft 365 and Azure services, especially Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
• Skills in creating technical documentation as well as training materials or internal user guides.
• A keen interest in continuously improving processes, standards, and technical operations within IT.
