Overview

Join Ramboll’s German Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) team to deliver full EIA and consenting services within the growing German Rail and Infrastructure market. This role requires extensive experience in conducting transport or infrastructure Environmental Impact Assessments and sits within the Environment & Health (E&H) Department in Germany and the global EIA network.

Your new role

As our new EIA Managing Consultant (m/f/d), you will be part of the E&H Department in Germany and of Ramboll’s global EIA practitioners network. The German EIA team covers local infrastructure, rail and onshore wind projects, and international assignments related to project finance. You will contribute to sector approaches for Rail and Energy, aligning and streamlining our service delivery for clients.

Your key responsibilities

• Project Oversight: Provide high-level oversight for multiple EIA projects, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and on budget.
• Client Management: Build and maintain strong client relationships, provide expert advice, and ensure client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure EIA reports meet high-quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Team Development: Mentor and develop junior and senior consultants, fostering collaboration and innovation.
• Financial Management: Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for EIA projects.
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks to ensure smooth project execution.
• Regulatory and Policy Insight: Stay updated on environmental regulations and advise clients on compliance and best practices.
• Business Development: Identify new opportunities for growth in EIA services, prepare proposals, and lead business development initiatives.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Lead engagement with government agencies, NGOs, and community representatives to ensure transparent communication.
• Partnership Expansion: Build a partnership network to leverage collective expertise and drive innovation across industries.

About you

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, ecology, or a related field.
• Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant discipline.
• Significant experience in environmental impact assessment and related fields.
• Proven track record of managing large-scale EIA projects.
• Professional certifications such as Certified Environmental Professional (CEP) or similar are beneficial.
• Familiarity with relevant German environmental regulations and standards.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency with EIA-related software and tools.
• Excellent report-writing skills for comprehensive EIA documents.
• Strong project management abilities, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Experience with risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
• Ability to mentor and develop junior staff.
• Experience in developing proposals and securing contracts.
• Ability to identify new business opportunities and drive growth.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English.
