About our client:
Our client is a pioneer and global leader in laboratory automation, empowering customers to scale healthcare innovation globally from life science research to the clinic. Their teams develop and manufacture instruments, components, and medical devices that make laboratory processes precise, reproducible, and efficient.
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Data Manager to lead global material, customer, and supplier master data governance across SAP ECC, S/4HANA, and integrated platforms for our client. In this role, you will ensure complete, compliant, and controlled data across product lifecycles and manufacturing transfers while driving continuous improvement and global standardization.
Key Responsibilities:
- End-to-End Governance: Oversee the complete lifecycle—creation, modification, extension, validation, blocking, and retirement—of material, customer, and supplier master data.
- Global Standards & Quality: Establish and refine global data standards, naming conventions, validation rules, duplicate prevention controls, and approval workflows in close collaboration with business owners.
- Lifecycle & Plant Transfers: Govern material master and BOM readiness for engineering changes, new product launches, plant extensions, and cross-site production transfers.
- Domain Alignment: Coordinate plant-specific data dependencies across planning, procurement, production, inventory, quality, costing, logistics, and trade compliance.
- Business Partner Management: Manage customer and supplier SAP Business Partner records (sold-to, ship-to, purchasing, company-code extensions, tax/finance attributes), promoting a unified entity identity and preventing duplication.
- ERP Transformation & Migration: Lead master data streams for ERP migrations, S/4HANA deployments, and site transfers—including scoping, cleansing, mapping, validation, testing, cutover, reconciliation, and post-go-live stabilization.
- Cross-System Integration: Align operational and engineering data across PLM/Windchill, SAP MDG, S/4HANA, and connected enterprise applications.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sales, Finance, Quality, Trade Compliance, and IT to resolve data risks and dependencies.
- Data Quality KPIs & Optimization: Monitor master data quality metrics, perform root-cause analysis, drive mass maintenance/automation initiatives, and deliver cross-site coaching and training.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Experience: 5+ years of SAP master data management experience in an international manufacturing environment with proven cross-functional coordination skills.
- SAP Expertise: Deep knowledge of SAP Material Master, BOMs, plant-specific attributes (MRP, procurement, production, logistics), and SAP Business Partner workflows.
- Systems Knowledge: Working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA and/or ECC, as well as SAP MDG workflows and validation frameworks.
- Migration & Transfers: Hands-on experience with plant/production transfers, SAP migrations, S/4HANA rollouts, or complex cutover and data readiness activities.
- Analytical & Soft Skills: Strong analytical capabilities, advanced Excel/data reconciliation skills, fluent professional English, and excellent stakeholder management abilities.
- Education & Additional Background (Nice-to-Have): Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Supply Chain, or Data Management; 7+ years of experience with workstream leadership or in regulated environments (e.g., MedTech).
- Technical Tools & Languages (Nice-to-Have): Experience with Windchill/PLM, Variant Configuration, Power BI, SQL, or workflow automation tools; German or additional language skills.
