YOUR MISSION

Ratepay is a dynamic and innovative fintech company dedicated to revolutionizing payment solutions in the online retail sector. We empower e-commerce businesses with flexible and secure payment options, allowing them to optimize their revenue streams. As a Senior Accountant (m/f/d) , you’ll be a key player in our accounting team, taking ownership of critical financial tasks while collaborating across departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. You’ll also be the go-to expert for both internal and external audits, helping us maintain compliance and excellence.

Tasks

Key Responsibilities:

• Independently prepare monthly and annual financial statements (main ledger) with precision and attention to detail according to IFRS and HGB.
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of VAT returns, advance VAT returns, recapitulative statements, and other tax returns.
• Take a proactive role in internal and cross-departmental projects, providing your accounting expertise to help drive company initiatives.
• Support day-to-day accounting tasks, contributing to the smooth operation of financial processes.
• Review, verify, and post incoming invoices and other business transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare detailed reports and analyses and respond to ad hoc financial inquiries from various stakeholders.
• Serve as the key contact for internal and external audit-related queries, ensuring transparency and thoroughness.

Requirements

Fluency in German and excellent command of English, ensuring clear communication with internal and external stakeholders

• A completed commercial apprenticeship or training as an Accountant, or an equivalent qualification; the qualification of “Bilanzbuchhalter” is an added advantage.
• Several years of experience in accounting, with additional exposure to project management being a plus.
• Strong knowledge of HGB and IFRS accounting principles, combined with expertise in SAP and MS Office.
• Ideally, you have experience with Navision and a good understanding of German VAT law and other tax laws.
• Passion for accounting and a commitment to contributing to a fast-growing company with enthusiasm and dedication.
