We are looking for a motivated and hands‑on Junior Development Engineer (m/f/d) with a background in mechatronics, electrical engineering, medical technology, or a related field.

You will join our System Integration team and contribute to the further development, testing, and optimization of the Molecular Cartography platform – a cutting‑edge system for spatial biology research.

This position is ideal for recent university graduates who want to gain practical experience in product development and learn how complex bioanalytical instruments are built, tested, and brought to life.

The role is based in the company’s headquarters in Monheim am Rhein, Germany.

Your Responsibilities:

• Support theassembly, integration, and functional testingof advanced prototypes and pre-series instruments.
• Assistin theexecution and documentation of system and sub-module tests, including verification and reliability testing for regulatory qualification.
• Collaborate with engineers and scientiststo analyze test dataandidentifydesign or process improvements.
• Contribute to thetechnical documentation, such as test reports,changelogs, and assembly guides.
• Participate introubleshootingof mechanical, electrical, or fluidic issues in close cooperation with senior engineers.
• Helpmaintainand organize ourinternal assembly and service area(tools, test setups, components).

Optional / depending on your background and interest:

• Contribute toCAD updatesor minor mechanical design changes (e.g. inAutodesk Inventor).
• Developsimple test routines oranalysisscripts(e.g.in Python or LabVIEW).
• Get involved inprototype improvementand feedback to design and manufacturing partners.

Your profile

• Bachelor’s orMaster’sdegree inMechatronics,Electrical Engineering,Medical Technology,Mechanical Engineering, ora relatedfield.
• Strong technical understanding ofelectromechanical systemsand enthusiasm for hands‑on experimental work.
• Interestin learningsystem integration,product testing, andtroubleshootingin a regulated environment.
• Basic experience withCAD software(e.g.Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks) or willingness to learn.
• Some experience or interest indata analysis or programming(Python, MATLAB, or similar) is an advantage.
• Structured and reliable working style, with curiosity and a collaborative mindset.
