This position will lead a procurement team and will be responsible for the performance of both operational and strategic aspects of the supply chain, including a thorough understanding of the overall business plan and long-term sales and marketing strategies to ensure the supplier base provides strong pipelines for the business.
This onsite role will be based in Landshut, Germany.
Role Responsibilities:
- Development and implementation of a holistic purchasing strategy for the department, aligning with corporate goals and market conditions, and fostering networking within the Group.
- Leading and developing the purchasing team to ensure an efficient, high-performing department, and participating as a member of the site management team.
- Identifying and evaluating suppliers, building long-term partnerships to ensure delivery capability and quality.
- Managing contract negotiations and drafting framework agreements with suppliers.
- Analyzing procurement risks and developing measures to minimize them.
- Collaborating closely with engineering, production, and quality management to ensure smooth material flow.
- Ensuring compliance with aviation-specific regulations and standards in purchasing processes.
Profile:
- Degree in business administration, aviation management, or a comparable qualification.
- Several years of purchasing experience, preferably in the aviation industry, with proven management skills.
- Strong knowledge of strategic purchasing, contract management, and supplier management.
- Analytical thinking with the ability to evaluate complex issues.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Team-oriented with strong leadership abilities.
- Influencing skills.
- Proficiency in written and spoken German and English.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Experience:
- Knowledge of aircraft interiors.
- APICS / CPIM certification.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain activities.
- Familiarity with critical commodities such as plastics, electronics, metals, and machined parts.
- Good knowledge of ERP and MRP systems, processes, and procedures.
