Desktop Infrastructure Support Specialist – Initial 6 Month Contract – On site near Basel – Leading Pharmaceutical Company

RED Global are looking for a skilled IT professional to provide desktop infrastructure support across our client\’s global organization. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with strong collaboration, project coordination, and compliance awareness in a regulated (R&D/GMP) environment.

Responsibilities

Provide end-to-end support for desktops, laptops, and iOS devices, including hardware, OS, and standard software.
Manage endpoint device lifecycle: deployment, troubleshooting, qualification (GxP systems), and disposal.
Deliver first-level support for global applications and collaborate with IT Service Centre, business partners, and global infrastructure teams.
Maintain accurate IT asset inventory and coordinate vendor access for data center operations.
Support IT projects, ensuring compliance with security policies and alignment with business needs.

Qualifications

Robust knowledge of IT systems, hardware, software, and standard applications.
Proven expertise in end-user support, PC/software deployment, and troubleshooting.
Strong understanding of network configurations and IT Service Management processes.
Experience working in R&D and GMP environments.
Track record of effective collaboration within multinational and virtual teams.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with ability to coordinate across stakeholders.
