In this Staff MLE role you shape and scale our Recommendations product by delivering production-grade ML systems. You will lead and collaborate with Data & AI, product, engineering, and business stakeholders to translate ambiguous requirements into scalable ML solutions. You’ll oversee the full ML lifecycle—from problem framing to deployment and monitoring—while guiding architectural decisions. This position combines strong ML and software engineering to create high-impact, reliable systems. Your work helps personalize experiences and drive measurable business value.

Verantwortungsbereiche
- Collaborate with Data & AI, product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders
- Provide technical leadership for the Recommendations product, defining architecture and direction
- Design, build, and operate ML systems for candidate generation, ranking, personalization, and discovery
- Translate business requirements into scalable ML solutions balancing quality, latency, reliability, scalability
- Lead architectural decisions for complex ML initiatives across modeling, data, infrastructure, and product needs
- Develop robust pipelines for feature engineering, training, evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and iteration
- Deploy models on a cloud-based stack with emphasis on reliability and observability
- Identify risks and opportunities to improve effectiveness and scalability of the system
- Communicate decisions, assumptions, and limitations clearly to stakeholders
- Raise technical standards through reviews, mentoring, and knowledge sharing
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Extensive hands-on experience as ML Engineer, ML-focused SW Engineer, or Data Scientist
- Proven track record building and operating production-grade ML systems or products
- Strong experience with recommender systems, ranking, personalization, or related discovery
- Demonstrated technical leadership influencing architecture and engineering practices
- Ability to reason about data leakage, feedback loops, distribution shifts, and offline metric pitfalls
- Comfort working near the business and explaining complex topics to technical and non-technical audiences
