Legal Counsel (m/f/d) international business & contract law in Köln

Key Responsibilities:

Member of the REEL Legal team and working in close collaboration with operational and commercial teams primarily based in Germany, in Switzerland and in Canada, you will act as the primary legal point of contact for the Aluminium Division business and, more broadly, for German‑related customer contracts within the REEL Group. Your main responsibilities will include:

Contract drafting, negotiation and review

• Draft, review and negotiate complex international B2B customer contracts, including EPC, EPS, turnkey contracts.
• Advise on contracts governed by standard forms such as FIDIC, NEC and other industry form of contracts, including the adaptation of these templates to project‑specific needs.
• Support commercial and project teams in structuring contractual frameworks for export projects worldwide.

Support for German markets and entities

• Handle contractual and commercial law issues for projects performed in Germany, or governed by German law, and provide guidance on German legal specificities with the help our external counsels.
• Work with German‑based business units on sales contracts and partnerships agreements.

Cross‑functional collaboration

• Support and work in close cooperation with the Aluminium Division project execution teams, as well as with Group contract and claim management teams (Project Management Office)
• Provide pragmatic, business‑oriented legal advice that supports decision‑making in a fast‑paced industrial environment.
• Travel occasionally to project sites, group entities and client locations (mainly in Europe and potentially worldwide), REEL being headquartered in Lyon, France.
