We are seeking a Sales Director Rare Disease to join our International Rare Disease team, supporting our EU4+UK region.

In this role, you will lead a high-performing field organization and drive commercial execution across our rare disease portfolio while collaborating with cross-functional teams and regional leadership.

Location: Munich, Germany (multiple locations are being considered for this role) - Office based, Hybrid.

  • Lead a sales team across EU4+UK to deliver company objectives.
  • Drive account targeting, segmentation, and multichannel customer engagement.
  • Set performance objectives and lead coaching, development, and succession planning.
  • Align incentive compensation plans with brand strategies and targets.
  • Partner with Commercial Operations on training, analytics, KPIs, Veeva CRM, and territory alignment.
  • Provide field insights on customer feedback, patient journey barriers, and competitive intelligence.
  • Partner with cross-functional team members to address market trends and dynamics.
  • You champion excellence, accountability, and patient-centricity across the organization.
  • This Role Requires
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Advanced degree in life sciences, pharmacy, medicine, or business strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
  • Minimum 3 years in a first-line field sales management role.
  • Proven success hiring, mentoring, developing, and retaining high-performing teams.
  • Experience in rare disease, specialized medicines, or gene therapy/ATMP commercialization preferred.
  • Ability to operate within sophisticated multi-stakeholder account environments.
  • Knowledge of market access and reimbursement frameworks across EU4+UK markets.
  • Ability to mentor teams on value-based and access-oriented payer engagement.
  • Experience with Veeva CRM, Salesforce effectiveness tools, data analytics, and digital promotion.
  • Proficiency in English and one additional European language highly desirable (French, German, Italian, or Spanish)
  • Knowledge of EFPIA and applicable national pharmaceutical industry codes.
  • Ability to travel 50% or more across EU4+UK and hold a valid driving licence.
  • Established KOL relationships in rare metabolic, musculoskeletal, or hearing loss areas are desirable.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills in multicultural environments.
