We are looking for a student interested in a six-month internship to support the content quality of a large database with content from scientific journals and patents.
Our company is Developing R&D solutions in the Chemistry domain and we are currently looking for a student having basic knowledge in data analysis. The intern will access a large chemistry database with data from journals and patents and perform data quality checks to identify non-harmonized data, duplicated, or missing data points. This includes writing SQL queries, writing scripts to process and analyze the data, and documenting the observations so that they can be shared with the team. You will therefore work closely together with members of various teams, including software development, product management, and subject matter experts in an agile project.
This internship is limited to 6 months.
You will be working on:

• Analyzing the current data status and documenting issues/challenges with the data
• Providing solutions to harmonize and improve the data
• Communicating results to members within and outside of the team

What you should bring:

• Pursuing a degree (Bachelor, Master) in an data, information or related subject
• Good analytic and problem-solving skills
• Basic programming/scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Perl, Python)
• Basic knowledge of databases, data platforms and data formats (e.g., SQL)
• Good communication and documentation skills (English) working in a truly international team
• Cooperative, service-minded, and proactive approach to working with colleagues
