About the role Remote is launching and building out our US PEO (Professional Employer Organization) services from the ground up, and we\’re looking for a dedicated International Operations Senior Specialist to be a foundational part of this exciting journey. In this role, you\’ll primarily focus on the intricate landscape of US compliance and entity management for both our PEO and EOR (Employer of Record) offerings across all US! You\’ll work closely with an International Operations Manager to navigate the complexities of US state-specific regulations, ensuring seamless and compliant operations. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of our US offerings from day one, translating complex regulatory frameworks into scalable, streamlined processes. Key Responsibilities As an International Operations Senior Specialist, you will be instrumental in ensuring our US PEO and EOR operations are fully compliant. Your responsibilities will include: Oversee all ongoing regulatory and compliance operations across all U.S. states, including filling licenses, business registrations, corporate filings, and reporting obligations. Partner with local legal advisors and external providers to implement legal documents and ensure regulatory readiness. Ensure strict alignment with state-specific labor and employment regulations, coordinating updates with legal, payroll, and operational teams. Work closely with Legal, Tax, Payroll, Benefits, and Operations teams to ensure compliance across all US jurisdictions. Manage the full lifecycle of legal entities, supporting governance tasks, renewals, and administrative maintenance in partnership with internal stakeholders and external advisors. Manage the receipt and processing of physical mail, and handle the execution of powers of attorney for various documentation. Maintain centralized, meticulously organized records of all compliance activities, filings, and regulatory correspondence. Ensure all necessary filings, registrations, and license renewals are completed accurately and on time. Create internal documentation, checklists, and guides to support consistency and knowledge sharing across teams. Lead projects related to regulatory setup and operational expansion specifically across U.S. states. Manage competing priorities across projects with autonomy, ensuring alignment with business goals, timelines, and risk mitigation. What You\’ll Bring We\’re looking for a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of US regulatory compliance. Experience & Background: Proven hands-on experience in a compliance, legal, or regulatory role, with a strong focus on US state-level licensing, registrations, and ongoing compliance obligations. Strong, in-depth understanding of U.S. state regulations, particularly in compliance, regulatory reporting requirements, and entity management. Experience supporting entity setup and maintenance, including continuity across multiple US jurisdictions. Ideally, you\’ve worked at a PEO company/competitor offering PEO services or a regulatory authority in the US that deals with PEOs (e.g., Business Licenses and Registrations departments). Experience with license renewals, entity management, and paralegal work is highly valued. Exceptional attention to detail, particularly with legal documentation, license applications, and compliance records. Risk-aware and solutions-oriented, able to proactively identify compliance gaps and implement preventive strategies. A \“getting things done\“ mindset – you\’re comfortable unblocking issues and moving forward quickly in a fast-paced environment. Clear, proactive communicator, capable of distilling complex regulatory issues into understandable insights for internal and external stakeholders. Comfortable in an asynchronous, remote-first environment, with proven experience working autonomously in fast-paced, high-growth teams.
