Actindo CoreAI is the unified commerce platform for profitable growth. Order

management, ERP, marketplaces, POS and storefront run on a single data model: one

inventory, one customer, one source of truth. Our suite of four products (Nexo, Plaza,

Venduo and Vista) covers the entire retail operation, developed and hosted in our own

data center in Munich.

Because everything runs on one data model, every retailer on Actindo is agentic-ready by

default. AI agents can query binding availability, prices and delivery times and initiate

authorized commerce actions via MCP, UCP and ACP, governed by the same rules that

apply to human teams. We are looking for an engineering leader who moves this forward

while keeping our customers' critical operations reliable.

The role

You lead our core engineering team and own platform architecture,

operations and infrastructure, and technical standards across product development and

Professional Services. You combine active software development with leadership,

architecture and delivery responsibility.

You report directly to the CEO and work as a tandem with our Lead Product Manager:

Product decides what we build and why, you decide how we build it and whether it is

technically sound, secure and operable.

What you will do

• Lead and develop the core engineering team through clear responsibilities, mentoring, feedback and focused hiring.
• Contribute production code, guide technically demanding work and help the team resolve complex implementation and production issues.
• Own engineering delivery: turn the product roadmap into achievable plans and improve release quality and predictability.
• Protect and evolve our single data model as the core architectural asset. Every new module, channel and country builds on it.
• Guide architecture for agentic commerce: internal AI agents for commerce operations, the graphical workflow builder and the agent channel via MCP, UCP and ACP.
• Ensure performance at scale: parallelized order routing, thousands of concurrent orders and real-time inventory across stores, warehouses and 3PLs.
• Take responsibility for operations and infrastructure in our Munich data center, including monitoring, incident response, security, performance and recovery.
• Act as technical lead for our Professional Services engineers: set standards, review critical integrations and customizations and keep them compatible with the core platform.
• Evolve integrations across ERP, shop, marketplace and POS systems.
• Improve development practices through code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD and effective use of AI tools. Establish permissions, evaluation, monitoring and auditability for AI and agent-based capabilities.

What you bring

• Strong experience developing and operating B2B software, combined with practical team leadership experience.
• Current hands-on development experience and the ability to contribute code alongside architectural and leadership responsibilities.
• Technical depth in software architecture, data modeling, APIs, infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
• Experience running production systems, including on-call, incident response and security.
• Experience across product engineering and customer implementations, and an understanding of how customizations affect a shared platform.
• Practical daily use ofAI development tools and an understanding of how LLMs, agents and MCP support business processes. Production experience with these is a plus.
• Sound judgment in balancing product development, customer commitments, technical debt and operational reliability.
• Clear communication with developers, customers and business stakeholders, and fluency in German and English.

Experience in commerce, order management, ERP or POS is an advantage, as is familiarity with fiscal requirements such as GoBD and TSE/KassenSichV. You do not need to have held a Head of Engineering title before. A strong Tech Lead ready to take broader ownership is equally welcome.
