Payroll Accountant (m/f/d)

Location: Berlin & Leipzig, Germany (Hybrid)

Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

• Independently prepare monthly payrolls for assigned clients.
• Handle payroll-related reporting and certification processes.
• Advise clients and colleagues on payroll, payroll tax, and social security matters.
• Maintain employee master data and payroll records.
• Communicate with tax authorities, social security institutions, and health insurance providers.
• Resolve complex payroll cases and perform quality checks within the payroll system.
• Support year-end payroll activities and German Pension Insurance audits.
• Participate in projects such as onboarding new clients and improving internal payroll processes.

Requirements

• Completed commercial/business education or a comparable qualification.
• Several years of experience in payroll processing.
• Strong knowledge of German payroll tax and social security regulations.
• Experience using payroll software (DATEV is an advantage).
• Strong analytical skills and an independent working style.
• Customer-oriented mindset with excellent attention to detail.
• Passion for modern technologies and continuous process improvement.
• Fluent German (C1), both written and spoken.
