Join us and build your future by being part of what’s next in electronics and the worldJob DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Application Manager / Director of Automotive BMS Applications to lead global application engineering teams across firmware, embedded software, and hardware domains for advanced automotive Battery Management System (BMS) semiconductor solutions.This role serves as the critical interface between Product Marketing, R&D, and customers, ensuring the successful deployment of system-level solutions in the automotive BMS market.The position has a global scope and is preferably based in Greater Munich, Düsseldorf (Germany), or Graz (Austria).Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & StrategyLead and scale a global applications engineering organization across firmware, embedded software, and hardwareDefine and execute the Automotive BMS application engineering strategy aligned with product roadmaps and business objectivesDrive organizational excellence, including capability development, hiring, and performance managementEstablish and enforce best practices for design methodologies, reuse, and platform-based developmentTechnical Execution & SupportLead system validation activities (functional, ESD, EMC)Drive device firmware development enabling software-defined hardware conceptsProvide software enablement for customers, including embedded test software and GUI toolsDrive AUTOSAR enablement (OS, MCAL, CDD), including configuration tools (e.g., DaVinci)Deliver hardware enablement via reference designs and evaluation boardsEnsure high-quality delivery of application collateral (reference designs, application notes, development tools)Support system-level architecture and design-in activities for complex automotive applicationsDrive development of virtual prototyping platformsEnsure compliance with automotive standards and processes (e.g., ISO 26262, ISO 21434, ASPICE)Customer EngagementAct as executive technical interface for key automotive OEMs and Tier 1 customersDrive design-in and design-win activities through system-level solution positioningSupport customers during integration, validation, and issue resolutionTranslate customer requirements into actionable product and development improvementsCross-Functional CollaborationCollaborate closely with:Product Marketing (positioning and roadmap alignment)R&D / Systems / Product Definition (silicon and platform development)Sales (customer engagement and opportunity management)Influence product definitions based on field insights and customer feedbackDrive partnerships with ecosystem stakeholders (e.g., HIL vendors, software partners, tool providers)QualificationsDegree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field15+ years of experience in Applications, Systems, or R&D within the automotive semiconductor industryProven experience in automotive Battery Management Systems (Tier 1 or OEM background preferred)Demonstrated leadership of global technical teams supporting customers and partnersStrong problem-solving capability with proactive, solution-oriented mindsetExcellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skillsFluent in German and EnglishWillingness to travel internationallyAdditional InformationThis position is subject to the Collective Agreement of the Electrical and Electronics Industry, employment group E (). The monthly salary is paid 14 times a year. However, we offer a higher salary depending on your experience and qualifications.
