We are looking for a Master student (m/f/d) to work as a student assistant in the GE Grid HVDC Engineering group for 6 month. After the 6 month the Master’s thesis should be written at HVDC controls development department during 4.5 month.
An Internship with us will provide valuable hands-on experience to help you launch your career in industrial research and provides an opportunity to write a master thesis in an professional environment.

Job description:
- Assist in performing research and development of HVDC Controls systems and system design
- Carry out laboratory HIL test cases to verify developed models.
- Generate and validate power system simulation models
- Develop research skills and conduct independent studies under the supervision of the assigned mentor.
- The opportunity to work 35 hours per week during 6 month of employment
- 4.5 months for writing the Master’s thesis with 35 hours per week in continuation of the student assistant employment

This position requires:
- Current enrolment in a full-time Masters Degree program at an accredited university, in Engineering, Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related STEM discipline, or equivalent knowledge or experience
- A passion for research and developing skills in critical thinking, scientific reasoning, data analytics and interpretation and teamwork.
- Legal authorization to work in the Germany. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
- Must be willing to work out of an office located in Berlin.
- Must be 18 years or older.
