Interim Director of Revenue Operations
About the Role
Our client urgently requires an Interim Director of Revenue Operations to establish and lead its revenue operations function, a newly created position critical to driving financial alignment and operational excellence across the organisation.
This interim role requires a strategic, data-driven professional who can quickly take ownership of the existing systems, ensure effective reporting, and support the sales organisation with robust forecasting and data quality processes.
As a key leader, you will collaborate with the Data and BI team to streamline revenue operations, embed best practices, and deliver actionable insights to improve sales and revenue performance. This is a hands-on role suited for a highly motivated individual who excels in dynamic, high-growth environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and Lead Revenue Operations
Build the foundation for the revenue operations function, with a strong emphasis on finance and sales alignment.
Act as the central point of coordination for data-driven decisions, integrating existing systems with new processes to improve operational efficiency. - Drive Financial Reporting and Data Quality
Collaborate with the BI team to produce high-quality data with regular cadence.
Own the financial aspects of reporting, ensuring alignment with sales performance metrics and forecasts.
Enhance visibility into pipeline data and embed data-driven practices across the sales organisation. - Forecasting and Systems Management
Work closely with sales representatives to ensure accurate and reliable forecasts.
Leverage existing systems to create scalable processes that support business growth.
Deliver process-driven solutions that align with their strategic goals. - Sales Enablement and Team Integration
Support sales leadership in driving accountability around weekly dashboard reporting.
Embed a culture of data integrity and transparency, challenging sales teams on data quality and pipeline reporting accuracy.
Coach and guide the sales organisation to adopt best practices in revenue operations. - Quick Wins and Long-Term Impact
Within the first four months, bring the sales team to a cadence of weekly dashboard reporting with a focus on pipeline accuracy.
Ensure the sales organisation is fully equipped to leverage insights for decision-making and forecasting.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven track record in leading Revenue Operations or similar roles, ideally within the software industry or tech-enabled-platform-industry and SaaS industries.
- Strong background in sales reporting, data management, and forecasting.
- Experience working in high-growth, fast-paced organisations, particularly in roles supporting or interfacing with sales teams.
- Familiarity with Dynamics and other CRM or ERP systems.
- Process-oriented mindset with a focus on driving results through data-driven decisions.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including BI, finance, and sales.
Location and Working Model
The role requires the Interim Director to be based remotely or in Germany, ideally at one of the business locations. Some travel may be required.
