Tasks You are pushing data-driven approaches for the purpose of localised climate impact assessments You are pushing data-driven approaches and techniques to downscale weather and climate information towards local scales You connect geospatial with weather and climate data to describe climate impact at a systems’ level You are eager to collaborate with climate modellers and vulnerability experts to push the tailoring of repath’s climate impact assessment framework to system characteristics (e.g. for the energy sector) You are an essential part of R&D and engage in (strategic) team leadership You are responsible for developing data-driven and automated climate impact assessment applications including climate downscaling procedures You have the possibility to actively contribute to and push repath\’s python software package development for automated climate impact assessment You engage in geospatial data driven analytics and AI to foster climate resilience You bring in an essential additional skillset and are experienced to take advantage of rational decision making Requirements You are a passionate climate impact modeller You have profound experience with impact modelling and/or system modelling frameworks You have proven experience in data-driven approaches and downscaling techniques with weather and/or climate model data (e.g. statistical downscaling approaches, AI emulators) You are knowledgable about state-of-the-art downscaling techniques and their strengths and weaknesses You have a holistic overview about geodata and proven experience in their application Its a plus if you bring a holistic overview of energy systems You are a Python expert and passionate about large data array handling (numpy, xarray, dask, pandas) You have the capability and confidence to work independent and take advantage of rational decision making You feel comfortable in agile software development environments You have a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in climate or earth sciences, meteorology, geoscience, geophysics, hydrology, geography or related disciplines as well as strong data-driven analytical and programming skills You are passionate about team leadership and motivated to engage in steering a self-organised team environment You possess 5+ years of experience in related roles preferably in remote Start-Up environments.
