We are looking to hire a passionate Technical Laboratory Assistant [f/m/d] to join our Systems Integration team.
In this role, you will support the development and performance characterization of new molecular biology- and biochemistry-based assays for our Molecular Cartography™ platform. Working closely with interdisciplinary teams across Research & Development, you will contribute to the development of innovative spatial biology technologies.
This is a full-time position based at our company headquarters in Monheim am Rhein, Germany, where you will collaborate closely with colleagues across the Research & Development organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, execute, and document experiments in a precise, structured, and reliable manner.
- Analyze molecular biology and imaging data generated from experimental studies.
- Prepare samples, including histological sectioning using cryotome and microtome techniques.
- Prepare biogels and embed analyte molecules such as RNA.
- Maintain, calibrate, and ensure the proper functioning of laboratory equipment.
- Take ownership of personal work planning in alignment with agreed objectives.
Your profile
- Completed training as a Biological Technical Assistant (BTA), Biologielaborant, or an equivalent qualification.
- First industry experience is beneficial.
- Experience with molecular biology techniques and nucleic acid work, particularly RNA-based methods.
- Experience with in situ hybridization, single-cell sequencing, PCR-based nucleic acid amplification, or spatial biology techniques is beneficial.
- Experience with cryotome and/or microtome sectioning is beneficial.
- Experience with cell culture is beneficial.
- Experience with biogel preparation and characterization is a plus.
- Experience with fluorescence microscopy and image analysis is a plus.
- Good written and spoken German and English.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications; experience with scripting languages such as R or Python, as well as ImageJ for image analysis, is beneficial.
- Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills, with keen attention to scientific detail.
- Structured, team-oriented mindset, with excellent communication skills and a strong focus on common goals.
