Go-to-Market Engineer, Salesforce (m/f/d)
For Client
This role is with one of our clients, not with Revenue Enablement. We run the search on their behalf. The client's name is shared in the first conversation.
Go-to-Market · Berlin (Hybrid, 3–4 days) · Reports to Head of Revenue Operations
Your role
This is a founding role. You own the commercial systems landscape across Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Sales Development. Salesforce is the core of that landscape, not its boundary. Most "GTM ops" roles stop at the top of the funnel. This one does not. From first touch through closed-won to renewal and expansion, you build and run the systems that make the whole commercial organization faster.
Tools and automation are how you work, not the point. The point is revenue. You understand go-to-market the way the people running it do, and you automate real business use cases, not abstract pipelines. You are not a software developer looking for a revenue project on the side. You are a commercial builder who happens to be excellent with systems and AI.
You are AI-first by default. You build agents and workflows instead of clicking through screens, and you treat modern AI tooling as your primary build environment, not a side experiment. This is engineering applied to revenue.
How the team works
Salesforce is the system of record for the entire sales motion. Every account, opportunity, and forecast lives there, which is why deep Salesforce experience matters. You will know it well enough to operate it programmatically: metadata, Flows, data model, SOQL, the CLI and APIs, not point-and-click admin work. Around that core you own the wider GTM systems architecture and the integrations that connect it: Salesforce, Planhat, Attention, Weflow, Outreach, and Clari, stitched together with n8n, APIs, and webhooks, working closely with the BI and Data team so commercial data flows reliably end to end. You build the connective tissue with AI: agents, scripts, and skills that move data, enrich it, route it, and act on it. The team cares about the commercial outcomes you drive, not which screens you visited.
Your impact
- Start from the business use case. Understand what Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Sales Development are trying to achieve commercially, then build the automation that gets them there.
- Own GTM automation across the full funnel: lead capture and enrichment, scoring and routing, outbound and inbound workflows, handoffs, pipeline hygiene, renewal and expansion triggers.
- Own the GTM systems architecture and integrations across the stack (Salesforce, Planhat, Attention, Weflow, Outreach, Clari), connecting them with n8n, APIs, and webhooks so the tools work as one connected system rather than disconnected islands.
- Operate Salesforce programmatically. Build and ship Flows, data model changes, and integrations through code and CLI, with the judgment to know when not to automate.
- Build AI systems the GTM team depends on: research and enrichment agents, drafting and personalization workflows, qualification logic, and internal copilots that remove manual work.
- Design human-in-the-loop systems where AI does the research and drafting and people keep the judgment on high-value accounts.
- Make the funnel measurable: clean data, trustworthy reporting in collaboration with the BI and Data team, and the instrumentation leadership needs to make decisions.
What you bring
- Real go-to-market understanding. You have worked in or directly alongside a commercial team (sales, business development, RevOps, or growth) and you understand how a B2B funnel generates revenue, from outbound through expansion. You build for commercial outcomes, not for automation's sake.
- A genuinely AI-first mindset. You already build with AI agents and modern AI tooling, and you reach for automation before manual work. You think in systems, not tasks.
- Deep, hands-on Salesforce knowledge. Data model, automation, integrations, and the confidence to operate it through CLI and APIs, not just the UI.
- Comfort with code and data. SQL, a scripting language (Python or JavaScript), and the API literacy to connect systems.
- An ownership mindset. You want to build concepts, implement them, and own them end to end with a supportive team. You enjoy working directly with subject-matter experts and turning business requirements into reality.
- A builder's bias. You ship, measure, and iterate.
Must have
- Minimum 3 years in a relevant role (GTM systems, RevOps engineering, Salesforce, or commercial automation).
- Proven hands‑on Salesforce experience, operating it as the system of record for a B2B sales team. You have run it as a platform, not just configured it.
- Commercial experience or fluency: you have worked in or directly alongside a GTM or business development function and understand the revenue use cases you are automating.
- Demonstrated automation work that connected multiple tools or systems end to end.
- Fluency with modern AI tooling in real work, not just experimentation.
- Comfort working in an international environment.
- Fluent English.
Nice to have
- Salesforce Administrator certification.
- Infrastructure or usage‑based SaaS experience.
- Front‑line business development or sales experience earlier in your career.
- Experience as the first or early systems/automation hire in a GTM team.
- German.
Why this might not be a fit
- You are a software developer who wants to build systems without engaging with the commercial side of the business.
- You are a pure Salesforce engineer who wants to stay in Flows and Apex and does not care about integrations, processes, or business outcomes.
- You see AI as a productivity add‑on rather than the way you build.
- You prefer clicking through the Salesforce UI to scripting and shipping changes through code.
- You only want to work the top of the funnel.
- You give up early when you hit resistance or ambiguity.
- You expect a pure startup environment. This is an established company. Success here needs confidence, measurable impact, stakeholder management, and the ability to influence leadership and drive change.
What success looks like (6–12 months)
- The GTM team runs on automations you built. Manual, repetitive work across the funnel is measurably reduced.
- Salesforce is cleaner, better instrumented, and changes ship faster because you operate it as code.
- The GTM stack works as one connected system, with n8n, APIs, and integrations moving data reliably between Salesforce, Planhat, Attention, Weflow, Outreach, and Clari.
- AI agents and workflows you own are in daily use across Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Sales Development.
- Leadership trusts the funnel data because the systems behind it are reliable.
About the company
