YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
As IT Procurement Category Manager, you will develop and implement category strategies for IT procurement, focusing on software (licenses, SaaS), hardware (infrastructure, devices), and IT services (rentals, leasing). Your efforts will help optimize costs, improve supplier performance, and reduce risks, all while ensuring we meet our business objectives.
- Develop Category Strategies : You develop and execute procurement strategies for software, hardware, and IT services, ensuring cost optimization, quality improvement, and performance enhancement across categories.
- Manage Supplier Relationships : You’ll identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on cost, quality, and performance. Building strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers will be crucial for ensuring consistent delivery and driving innovation.
- Negotiate Contracts : You’ll lead negotiations for supplier contracts, including SLAs, pricing, and terms, to secure the best value while managing risks like supply chain disruptions and price volatility.
- Collaborate Across Teams : You’ll partner with internal stakeholders to define procurement needs, aligning strategies with business goals, and act as the bridge between procurement, IT, and other relevant units to ensure alignment and effective communication.
- Drive Cost Savings : Through strategic sourcing, supplier consolidation, and demand management, you’ll identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.
- Analyze Market Trends : You’ll monitor emerging market trends, supplier landscapes, and technologies to identify opportunities and risks.
- Report on Performance : You’ll provide regular updates to senior management on category performance, savings, and KPIs, ensuring transparency and alignment.
- Ensure Compliance : You’ll ensure all contracts adhere to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and sustainability goals.
THAT\’S YOU
- Bachelor’s / Master’s degree or comparable qualification in Business Studies, Supply Chain, Procurement, or related fields.
- 5+ years of experience in procurement, ideally in strategic sourcing or category management, with a focus on IT procurement.
- Understanding of IT procurement, licensing models, hardware lifecycle management, and other IT-specific business needs.
- Experience with SAP and other procurement software.
- Knowledge of industry trends, supplier markets, and risk management strategies.
- Excellent stakeholder management, cross-functional collaboration, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Fluent in German and excellent English skills (written and spoken).
