The Global Logistic Project Lead (m/f/d) is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the end-to-end processes related to transportation and warehousing activities. This role is managing all projects related to logistic topic and ensures that all logistics operations are efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with the company\’s strategic objectives. The person will work closely with all operational logistic teams in Central and in Regions, but also with cross-functional teams to lead projects (project leadership but no disciplinary leadership), identify areas for improvement, implement best practices, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

This is a full-time position located at our Headquarter in Cologne.

Job responsibilities

  • Develop and execute logistics strategies to support business objectives
  • Oversee logistics projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to project objectives and timelines
  • Support regional teams in tender processes and 3PL negotiations.

Process Optimization:

  • Develop and maintain global logistics processes and SOPs
  • Develop and track KPIs to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance performance and reduce costs
  • Implement supply chain risk management frameworks to mitigate disruptions

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with internal logistics teams, IT, and external partners (suppliers, carriers, vendors) to ensure smooth project flow, optimize coordination, and build strong relationships
  • Act as the key liaison between logistics and IT, collaborating to design and secure logistics processes and ensuring seamless integration between logistics applications and the ERP system
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of WMS/TMS systems
  • Drive digital transformation by implementing new technologies (IA) to enhance speed and accuracy
  • Drive the organization toward a more digitally advanced logistics function, optimizing operations and leveraging third-party logistics providers

Cross-functional Leadership :

  • Provide leadership and support to cross-functional logistics teams on project-based initiatives, driving high performance and fostering professional development through influence and collaboration
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence across different teams

Profile

  • Master\’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in logistics, transport, and warehousing management
  • Deep understanding of logistics processes, industry regulations, and best practices
  • Proficiency in Transport Management Systems (TMS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), including ERP integration
  • Experience with digital logistics solutions and transformation initiatives
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and projects within a matrix organization, including managing third-party service providers
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, persuasion, and negotiation skills
  • Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent continuous improvement experience is a plus
  • Willingness to travel (20-30%) to various warehouse and transport locations
  • Fluent English skills are required, german skills of advantage
