At the core is the EMEA Esports team, responsible for operating all major Riot Esports events, supporting and adhering to global policies for the sport, driving global and regional narratives, and executing our EMEA regional leagues. Production Accountants at Riot are crucial to the financial data processing and management within our live esports events, live studio broadcasts, and large-scale entertainment productions.
Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Production Management EMEA, you will join our EMEA Esports production team based in Adlershof, Berlin to support multiple producers and production managers budgeting, expense tracking, cost control, forecasting, purchase orders, invoices, payments, and financial reporting. This is a 12 month contract and will be based from the Berlin office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with Line Producers, Production Managers, internal teams, vendors, and regional finance departments to ensure accurate processing and maintenance of forecasting, tracking, and reporting of production budgets for live events, studio operations, and other entertainment-based projects.
- Track and categorize costs using industry-standard production chart of accounts, providing accurate actuals and forecast updates while analyzing financial trends to identify areas of risk or opportunity.
- Create and distribute detailed cost reports tailored to entertainment, live broadcast, and media production workflows, ensuring compliance with company financial policies and local regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Legal, Treasury, Procurement) to align production budgets with organizational objectives and maintain audit-ready financial records for entertainment productions.
- Support internal and external audits related to production costs and prepare documentation for review.
- Use enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and industry-standard media budgeting platforms (e.g., Movie Magic, MediaWin, or equivalent) to streamline financial tracking and reporting processes.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial data while providing insights for continuous improvement in budget management.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of experience in production accounting or finance within entertainment, live events, live broadcast, or film/TV production.
- Strong ability to multitask, be proactive, and detail-oriented.
- Experience with entertainment production-specific chart of accounts, talent payroll, processes, broadcast labor cost management and production, and related software (e.g., Coupa, SAP, or equivalent).
- Experience with media budgeting platforms (e.g., Movie Magic, Media Win, or equivalent).
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with a high degree of discretion.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of production accounting experience in live entertainment, esports, or film/TV production.
- Any former experience as a line producer.
- Experience in local labor laws.
- Proven ability to develop systems for tracking and managing complex data points across multiple productions.
- Current and/or in-progress professional accounting certification.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or business-related field.
