About the role

As a Legal Counsel, you will support Riverty’s business and the entire company in various legal affairs. You will join a legal community of about 25+ lawyers and work closely with teams such as Product, Sales, Marketing, Risk, Compliance, Finance, and Operations. Riverty’s organizational culture is international, low-hierarchical, and promotes cooperation and open interaction, fostering a dynamic and collaborative environment.

You will be part of a team of lawyers from Germany, Sweden, Norway, and the Netherlands, reporting to the General Counsel for Invoicing & Payment. Your primary responsibility will be supporting our business in Germany, which is crucial for our regional operations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Drafting and reviewing client contracts, supplier agreements, and other relevant contracts.
• Providing legal support and advice on topics such as consumer law, business law, and contract law.
• Supporting internal stakeholders and collaborating with the international Legal team.
• Advising on legal impacts of legislative changes or business model adjustments.
• Representing the organization in matters involving supervisory authorities.

Qualifications and skills that will help you succeed:

• Master’s degree in law with 2-4 years of experience in German law.
• Experience with German financial topics and contract drafting in German.
• Excellent communication, legal advisory skills, and a commercial mindset.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Goal-oriented, result-driven, with a risk-based approach.
• Fluent in German and English.
