Our client is a leading asset management firm with a strong presence in the Swiss financial market. They have a strong focus on providing innovative investment solutions while maintaining the highest regulatory and operational standards. To support its continued growth, we are seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to drive operational excellence and technological innovation.
1. Financial Expertise
- Oversee asset management operations with a deep understanding of financial markets, investment strategies, and asset classes (e.g., equities, bonds, private equity, hedge funds, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with Swiss financial regulations (FINMA) and international standards such as MiFID II and AIFMD.
- Analyze financial data and key business metrics to support strategic decision-making.
2. IT & Data Competency
- Manage and enhance the firm’s technical infrastructure, including trading platforms, portfolio management systems, and risk management tools.
- Implement advanced data management strategies, leveraging analytics tools to optimize decision-making and risk management.
- Lead digital transformation initiatives, including process automation (e.g., RPA – Robotic Process Automation).
- Oversee cybersecurity frameworks to maintain data integrity and IT security.
3. Project & Process Management
- Drive process optimization across operations, compliance, risk management, and reporting functions.
- Lead change management efforts to integrate new technologies and streamline workflows.
- Utilize agile (Scrum, Kanban) and traditional project management methodologies to execute complex projects effectively.
4. Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Provide leadership to multi-disciplinary teams with a strong focus on operations and IT.
- Communicate effectively across all levels, from operational teams to executive leadership.
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, regulators, and board members.
5. Risk & Compliance Management
- Identify and mitigate operational risks related to trading, compliance, and financial processes.
- Ensure seamless integration of regulatory requirements into daily operations to maintain full compliance with industry standards.
Minimum of 8 years of leadership experience in operations or IT management within financial services, ideally in asset management.
Proven track record in process optimization, digital transformation, and risk management.
Degree in Business Informatics, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent qualification is an advantage.
Fluency in German and English is required; French is an additional asset.
Experience with portfolio management software (e.g., Bloomberg).
Knowledge of risk management tools and ERP systems (e.g., SAP or other financial software).
Lead strategic operational initiatives in a dynamic financial services environment.
