Temporary Senior Accountant – (18-Month Contract)
On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Senior General Ledger Accountant for an 18-month mission starting February/March 2025 in Geneva.
Key Responsibilities as the Senior Accountant:
- Independently manage daily accounting tasks, with guidance on more complex projects and analyses.
- Apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal accounting policies to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial reports.
- Conduct monthly close activities and support the preparation of financial statements.
- Reconcile accounts and perform variance analysis, identifying and explaining any discrepancies or issues.
- Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvements, recommending technology-enabled enhancements to streamline operations.
- Maintain and update internal documentation and procedures, ensuring compliance with internal controls.
- Support external audit activities by providing necessary documentation and responding to auditors‘ queries.
- Stay informed on new accounting standards or changes in financial transactions, evaluating the impact and proposing solutions in collaboration with senior team members.
- Foster strong relationships within the global finance team and across other departments to ensure smooth operations.
Key Qualifications:
- Strong experience in accounting, particularly in general accounting, financial reporting, and regulatory reporting.
- In-depth knowledge of financial accounting principles and the ability to apply them effectively to tasks.
- Proven experience in account reconciliations, variance analysis, and preparation of financial statements.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and address process inefficiencies.
- Experience working with external auditors and understanding of audit processes.
- Strong IFRS knowledge.
- Fluency in English (additional language skills are a plus).
