The Position

Do you have a passion for healthcare and an interest in digital wearables? Are you eager to gain experience in clinical research and data analysis? If so, we have the perfect internship opportunity for you!
As an intern in POC assay formats (Point of Care RED Chapter- POC RED), you will have the opportunity to be a part of an innovative, and a global team. The POC RED Chapter is located in Mannheim and develops innovative diagnostic solutions for near-patient testing. We work together with departments from Research & Development, Diagnostics Production, Business Development and the Life Cycle Teams.
Your tasks and responsibilities:
- Screening of patents, literature, and clinical studies relevant to the project
- Help participants set up and use digital wearable devices
- Contribute to data collection, and data analysis
- Work alongside experienced researchers to learn about clinical trial design and execution
- Providing regular updates to cross-functional team of clinical scientists, biomarker experts, data scientists, and IVD experts
Who you are

To be successful in this role, you are (and have):
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program in a relevant field (e.g., healthcare informatics, computer science, biostatistics, biomedical- or natural sciences)
- High interest and thorough technical knowledge of how digital wearables (consumer wearables/medical grade wearables) detect, analyze, and transmit information of body metrics
- Skilled in writing (reports, documentation, SOPs)
- Proficient in data analysis software (e.g., R, Python, SAS).
- A fast learner with a strong work ethic and a meticulous attention to detail
- Fluent in English (German language skill would be an added advantage)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Passionate about innovation and improving healthcare through technology
