Currently, we are a team of six biomarker leaders with different backgrounds in biochemistry, cell‑biology, molecular biology, experimental ophthalmology and drug development that we apply to diseases like age‑related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, dry eye disease, and others. /p pWe are looking for a biomarker expert with strong experience in translational science that can complement our team as an individual contributor and matrix team leader. /p h3The opportunity /h3 ul liIn this role, you will be accountable for the development and implementation of end‑to‑end translational biomarker strategies during the preclinical and clinical phases of drug development programs /li liYou will lead biomarker‑related activities aimed at quantifying drug response and selecting patients for personalized healthcare, acting as Matrix Leader of the BioX (Bioanalytical, Biosample and Biomarker) Expert Team /li liYou will assume accountability for research collaborations designed to benefit multiple programs, in line with the relevant project and disease area strategies /li liYou will be an active member of preclinical and clinical drug development and project teams /li liYou will provide scientific and strategic input into the overall drug and clinical development plans and ensure that biomarker‑related activities are fit for purpose and support decision‑making within the context of the preclinical and clinical development strategy /li liYou will collaborate with academic, industry, internal and external experts, as well as service providers, on biomarker, experimental medicine and natural history studies to identify and evaluate disease biomarkers and novel clinical trial endpoints /li /ul h3Who you are /h3 ul liYou hold a PhD and/or MD degree and have at least 7 years of well‑documented experience in a research, industry or clinical setting. This experience should include at least 3 years of biomarker‑related work in the context of drug development, preferably involving protein, metabolite, genetic, imaging or functional biomarkers /li liYou are able to lead cross‑functional matrix teams, drive team decisions and project needs, and prioritize your work to achieve both individual goals and team deliverables /li liYou have a good understanding of methodological and bioanalytical approaches and are able to generate, integrate and interpret preclinical, clinical and drug development data to enable proof of biology, dose selection, patient selection and safety across clinical programs /li liYou are a proactive team player who integrates easily into a global organization. You have strong networking skills, are capable of working independently, and enjoy contributing to a collaborative environment where success is driven by the team rather than by individual heroes /li liYou have strong presentation and communication skills and are fluent in English /li liYou are an innovative and strategic thinker who sees the big picture. You are goal‑oriented, have a strong drive and analytical mindset, and are motivated to achieve excellence.
